Mile Stones

So tonight, we officially finished the pre-production process. It's been two...yes, two years of demo-ing, writing, and we just finally finished. As of right now the album is 11 songs with 6 alternate B-sides. In total we wrote 36 songs for the album. It will be a full release with cd booklet, artwork, and all. We are also putting together our cd release, tentatively scheduled for Nov. 18th. Currently we are having a fund drive through Kickstarter.com to raise enough funds and support to press the cd, put together the cd release, and fix up our van for tour. We've come a far way, but we still have... oh... so far to go.

Oh man,

Writing songs can be hard. We have about five ideas we've been working on since we last blogged about it. All can be very good songs, but none of them seem to want to be completed. If one has a solid riff but no chorus, the next one will have a killer chorus but no verse. We obviously have no choice, but to carry on (My wayward son). When all else failed, we just jammed out the songs we have. I know it sounds cliche, but damn did it feel good to just rock out.

First Day Back At It.

2/7 new song instrumentally done already. Joe wrote the "head bobber." Michael took care of "the rocker." Time to work on one of Brian's "lyrically driven" songs. After that 4 or so more songs to go. At this rate we might need to make it a double L.P.

It's been a while.

We've been on hiatus for the last month or so. Between South By South West, Country Thunder, and construction at our studio we have been taking some long overdue time for rest. Tomorrow is our first practice back in the swing of things. We are going to work on writing 6 or 7 more songs to finish out the demoing for our first full length album. After these 7 we will choose from the 20+ songs in various stages of production and choose 10 to 12 and make the final album with them. Then, we will start the process of re-tracking the songs for the final album versions. We also are working on a new set list for our show at the Marquee for the Loren Battle CD Release show. We are also working on our tour schedule for this summer. We have a lot of big things in the works that we will announce as soon as they are confirmed.
Till then...Party on Wayne.

Show days.

People always ask me if I'm excited to play that night. Me personally, it doesn't sink in we're playing a show till about 15 min before we play. Usually while we're out in the parking lot doing P90X stretches and warm ups, listening to Periphery or August Burns Red. The day of the show is always weird. It's a "hurry up and wait" policy. I always wake up way too early, get ready in a hurry, drink a bunch of coffee and energy drinks, then realize its only 11:30 and I'm bouncing off the walls on caffeine. Oh, and I always make a check list or I'll forget something. My show day checklist this morning was; GTL, return "Due Date" to redbox, set all the time delays on my pedals, gas up the van, count the merch, and pack up my gear. It's 2:30 and I'm done with all of it : ). We don't have to be at the venue till 5:30 for load in. So, I decided to write it down. Currently jammin out to some MJ "Smooth Criminal." Pretty excited about our set list tonight. It's going to be; Dirty March, I've Got A Feelin, Walk Like A Gentleman, Interlude, New Noise, Rodeo, and Shapeshifting. It's a fun, high energy, rockin set list. Anyway the band will be here soon. So, I'll see you tonight at The Nile in Mesa around 6:30.

It's Monday, Monday, Monday.

I'm referring, of "course," to the show we jumped on a last minute, 2 days from now, on Monday March 28th at The Nile Theater in downtown Mesa. It is with; Jamie's Elsewhere, Life On Repeat, Divided By Friday, and Val Valiant. Today is Saturday, tomorrow is Sunday, and Monday comes after...wards. If you don’t want this weekend to end...come to the show...it's Monday, Monday, Monday. (I feel like the commercial announcer for a monster truck rally)...Oh, aren't pop culture references fun!?!?! See you all there! (At the show, of "course," not the monster truck rally...(although, a monster truck rally would be fun to play (but it's kind of hard to overpower the sound of monster trucks (unless we used that amp Michael J. Fox had in back to the future))))
